“Snow Day” Cool Event At County Zoo
The Cape May County Zoo was the place to cool off on Saturday, August 13th at the first “Snow Day” event for Snow Leopard conservation awareness. This special event was held in conjunction with The Woodland Park Zoo in Washington State.

Photo 034 Freeholder Director Dan Beyel said, "We were proud to work in conjunction with the Woodland Park Zoo to stretch Snow Leopard Conservation from the west coast to the east coast."

Photo 010 The hit of the day was the four tons of crushed snow, donated by Lunds Fisheries, which assisted in creating a winter scene. Many kids and some adults beat the heat by climbing up the snowy hill, complete with wintry backdrop. Many of the zoo animals enjoyed the chilly refreshing snow as well.

Photo 041 The snow was given out to many animals as an enrichment program. All of our snow leopards and our Siberian tiger received piles of snow to enjoy and even the camels and goats were seen chewing on the cool treat.
